I’m James Crabb. I service and repair gas, oil and solid fuel boilers, and with over 20 years in combustion engineering I have seen most problems and fixed all manner of boilers, range cookers and renewable appliances.
I will always try to fix your boiler rather than simply replace it, which is often the default approach from some companies. I carry a vast amount of spares on the van and aim to fix on the first visit.
I’m a warranty agent for several boiler manufacturers, a service agent for Navien, Intergas and Mixergy, and I train regularly on the different manufacturers’ boilers so I have a wide knowledge of each brand.

I was called to this Navien oil boiler on a warranty job a while back and made a few recommendations to put right a few issues. The customers kindly asked me to return and carry out the work.
Boiler raised, condensate terminated correctly, new motorised valve, system filter and extra expansion vessel fitted. Y plan wiring sorted out as well.
A satisfying job and a satisfied customer.

Book your serviceDuring the pandemic, when I was trading as Retford Boiler Services, I offered local NHS staff a free gas boiler service as a thank you for all their hard work. The response was so big that I had to take on staff to organise it.
We did about 120 services, roughly £10,000 of work, all free. Wavin featured the story in its Pride of Plumbing series in 2021, and in 2022 I received an InstallerMERIT award, which recognises installers who go above and beyond for their community. Recipients can’t nominate themselves.
